What is purpose? Purpose is supposed to be an outlet for us to find meaning in our lives, but is there is a point to it if we are constantly seeking it out? Does it become a blind endeavor? It can be. If you are putting all your energy and hope into an end goal, what happens when you reach it?

Does one become instantly enlightened and happy? In short, no. The single aim of having purpose means that we have a distorted agenda. Tying one’s overall happiness to a set of outcomes lends itself to the opposite effect, because that ultimately means that external forces have more sway in dictating your happiness than you do.
 
Thoughts for the Week
The desire for control is the antithesis of gaining happiness, because control can be a powerful drug which can lead us to live in comfortable lies and distortions rather than embrace the vulnerabilities and take things for what they are.
